Due to the latest restrictions from regional government we have no alternative but to close the library until further notice.

AGoF Committee

Additionally, we are losing some of our committee members and library team and need help. In particular we need a Centre Manager to replace Michelle Blewitt Downes who stepped down at the end of July as she is relocating to the UK. Also Sarah Makin would welcome some assistance with the monthly newsletter while she is recuperating from illness. At the moment, your committee is trying to share the load but we are struggling. Please do think about joining us. We will make you very welcome.

The Almanzora Group of Friends was originally started in 1998 as a means of sharing information, and giving advice to people who had decided to move to this beautiful area of Spain – the Almanzora Valley.

The Group is totally self-funding and not affiliated to any political or religious organisation.

Our Library and Information Centre is situated on Plaza San Antonio in Albox.

The library has a large selection of books, videos, DVDs and computer games for adults and children and new titles are added every month.

We have a list of translators who can help with legal and medical matters. They are independent of the Group and charges should be negotiated individually.

The staff in the Centre are all volunteers who provide a friendly welcome and will try and help you with any information.

Coach trips, both days out and holidays, form an integral part of the Group’s activities and introduce members to other beautiful parts of Spain.

The subscription is 12 euros per annum and includes our monthly newsletter which can be picked up in the centre. Renewals are due in January.
