Art demonstration: October 16

We are pleased to announce that Marian Nobbs will be doing another art demonstration for both members and non members of the Almanzora Group of Friends (Non members will be asked to donate €2). On this occasion Marian will be painting a Spanish mountain village scene with water colours. We hope as many of you as possible can come along to see Marian’s excellent painting skills. Together with her advice and tips, it will make a very interesting morning as it did when Marian demonstrated painting with acrylics.

The demonstration will take place on Monday 16 October at 11am. We ask that you please arrive at the Group of Friends’ English Library and Social Centre, Plaza San Antonio, Albox for 10.30am. As previously, there will be the opportunity to ask Marian questions and advice on painting with water colours.

Following the demonstration we thought it would be nice to go to the nearby La Parilla for tapas and refreshments, for those attendees who would like to join us.

UPDATE AFTER THE EVENT:

A very big thank you to Marian Nobbs for her demonstration on painting with water colours. It was very interesting and amazing how the scenery within the painting gradually came to life. We look forward to seeing the finalised painting on display in the library very soon. I have attached some photos to show you how the painting developed during the hour’s demonstration and Marian painting the scene, whilst talking us through some very useful creative tips.

Marian has said that she will do a further demonstration in the New Year, around February time, so we hope that many of you can join us next time – even if you don’t paint yet, the demonstration certainly gives you inspiration to have a go.
