Message from the Committee: April 2026

Text contentaA couple of our centre team need to retire shortly and we will struggle to cover all our opening times.

So please could you consider coming in for a couple of hours one morning to help us out. It is not hard work. It is fun and you get to chat to other members, plus attempt the communal jigsaw puzzle. That can be quite addictive.

If you would like to offer your services, or just hear more about what is involved, please contact Kathy on almanzorafriends@gmail.com – and she will get in touch to arrange a chat.

As reported last month, Stephen Wood has stepped down from the librarian role.

Shelagh has been helping in the meantime but we do need permanent cover. It is not an onerous task and can be carried out while we are open or closed. It is a matter of ordering new books, entering them onto the system, deleting old ones, and keeping the catalogue up to date. If you would like more information please email us and Shelagh will arrange to meet you.

We are also sorry that we are losing Alan Boscott in the travel role but glad that he and Val will still be around in the library and on our trips. So, we need to someone to replace him and help Frank with trips. Please contact him via our email to learn more.

Walk For Life – On Saturday, 25th April, several of your committee are – again – going to take part in the Walk for Life.
