Message from the committee: July 2025

This month sees the start of much higher temperatures, summer visitors and the search for shade. The committee have put their heads together to come up with some ideas to find places to go and things to do in the heat. This can be found in this month’s newsletter (available to Members)

Also in this month’s member newsletter, the lovely Nicki from Angels Nursing Care has provided an informative article on how to cope with the heat, symptoms to look out for and how to deal with heatstroke and dehydration.

Thanks to the travel team for organizing the very wonderful trip to the Butterfly Farm and Cactus Garden at Nijar.

We had another successful craft event this month run by Alison Shand. Rock Art combined a local resource that is all around us with some fun interpretations of nature.

Looking further ahead, due to a cancellation 6 places are available on the Mérida trip in September. 12 places are left on the December trip to Madrid. The travel guys are always on the look out for new places to visit and thank those who have put ideas forward.

The library will be closed for summer soon. Last day to stock up on books and jigsaws will be Friday 1st August. We will reopen on
Tuesday 2nd September.

We are busy planning our Autumn Open Day on Saturday 13th September.
