Message from the Committee: June 2026

May was quite a busy month!

We met with the Walk for Life team to give them 500€ in sponsorship & donations.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.

Martin Evans and Andrea Evans had a successful three days at the Albox Book Fair. Over 200 bears were handed out to the children which was superb.

A big thank you to all those who helped with the reading and to everyone who helped with the knitting and donating bears. And thank you to the children for getting involved in the story telling.

Martin and Andrea reported on Breeze 97.7 FM with Lynn Murrell about their Bear Hunts. They
want to do more in other municipalities so please do keep donating those bears!

Summer Open Day

We are having a Summer Open Day at our Library and Social Centre on Saturday 6th June. If you have any items that would be suitable for the raffle or tombola (however small) please do drop them into the library.

Summer closing and a special event

We will be closed for the whole of August. Our last day of opening – Friday 31st July. Opening again Tuesday 1st September.

Before the Summer closure, the committee would like to invite members to join us for a get together on Wednesday 1st July at the New Bar International, Albox/Arboleas. We will be there from 1.30 and the first drink is on us (beer, wine, soft drink).

There will be available a cold buffet (meats, cheese, salads) at a special price of €12.50. If you would like to join us, please come into the Centre to pay a €5 deposit.

We will need final numbers by Friday 25th June.

We only get to see some of you on trips, some of you in the library, and some of you here and there. It would be nice to have the chance to catch up with you properly and for new members to meet old members.
