Message from the Committee: March 2025

Well, we almost have a full committee and can begin to action some of
the things we had on our ‘wish list’. The first of those is to start monthly
‘events’ now that we have Alison Shand on board to organise them. She
has lots of ideas for interesting activities (see list later in this newsletter),
the first of which will take place on Saturday March 22nd, World Water
Day. Do come along and see what Martin gets up to. It’s going to be a
‘Messy Day’ for the kids in the plaza. Bring along your children,
grandchildren, visitors’ children.

Our first ‘Open Day’ of the year will be held on Saturday 3rd May to
commemorate May Day. We will give you more information when we
have finalised our plans.

The travel guys have organised a trip to Roman Merida and Cáceres
from 22nd to 25th September. Bookings are being taken now. This is a
really interesting trip, not just the Roman theatre and amphitheatre in
Merida, but also medieval Cáceres with its statue of St George (their
patron saint) slaying the dragon.
