Message from the committee: May 2025

We had quite a busy April, with Alison Shand’s Glue Gun for Beginners and the free Book and Rose on 23rd.

This was closely followed by the Walk for Life and the ‘Messy Day’ in Zurgena.

On 30th April Val Boscott finished the communal jigsaw puzzle ! That was a really hard one and took months to complete. Perhaps an easier one next time ?

In May, we have the ‘Fun Day’ on 3rd and the trip to Cabo de Gata on the 6th.

We also have Coffee Spanglish at 4:00 on Friday 9th (new dates and times).

We are having a Photography Competition in May. Photos need to be Albox themed. Submit your two best prints at the Library by the 30th May.

Looking ahead, we still have a few spaces available on the trip to Merida and Caceres in September and the one to Madrid in December. The travel guys are also looking at some interesting day trips. They are finding this quite challenging as prices have gone up alarmingly – both for the coach and for restaurant meals.

Perhaps we will end up asking you to bring a packed lunch. !!

Finally, some of you will have heard of the reform of Spain’s Immigration regulations, effective on May 20th. They are very briefly summarized in the newsletter but we advise you to contact Kate Salt for clarification if it might apply to you or someone you know.

Our donations are still coming in and we will present the money to the Walk of Life team in due course.
