Message from the Group President – Apr 2022
We are sorry to report that Sarah Makin has decided to leave the committee due to health reasons. Her smiling face will be missed and our committee meetings won’t be the same without her. But she will be popping in to see us and coming along to our open days and hopefully our trips.
On the other hand, we are pleased to welcome on the committee (co-opted until ratification at the next AGM) Deborah Willows, who has volunteered to help organise our events.
On the subject of events, we had hoped (on April 9th) to have a spectacular flamenco display in the plaza in front of our centre to celebrate the beginning of Semana Santa. This has proved difficult to organise because of the Easter timing so, instead, we are holding a special event on Saturday 23rd April. Later in the magazine you can read about all the things that are celebrated on this day in Spain, in particular San Jorge and El Dia del Libro. All attending will be offered a free book and rose. Do come along.
The travel guys are still investigating some interesting day trips and will let us have details when they have finalised them. In the meantime, there are still a few places left on the Andorra trip – 5th to 10th June.
