As always in April, we have Easter followed by St George’s Day. But this year there will be no big celebrations due to the Covid restrictions. Let’s hope the vaccinations start soon and we will be able to celebrate Christmas properly.
In the meantime, Ian and Frank are putting together ideas for small day trips/lunches that they can organise as soon as the restrictions are eased.
We are also hoping to open again on Mondays but need more help in the library to do this. If you can spare a few hours one morning, please let Sasha (Centre Manager) know. You can email her on : firstname.lastname@example.org
Another idea we have had is to organise monthly social events in the centre (as soon as we can do this). Each month we hope to have a speaker/demonstrator/game to entertain us and also include time to catch up with the committee and other members. If you have some activity you would like to share with others, or would simply like to attend, please let us know what day and/or time of day would suit you best. We are still in the planning stages so any feedback would be very helpful.
Last, but not least, we are pleased to welcome Mike Witherspoon on to the committee and we are hoping he will enjoy the experience. We are sure he will be a welcome addition. However, as we gain one new member we are losing another. Doreen Parker has given up the role of Treasurer after 5 years. The committee thank her for her immaculate record keeping and devotion to our members. We hope she can now enjoy some relaxation without the stress of guarding our funds.
**A copy of the audited accounts for 2020 are available in the Centre for any member to look at.
