Message from the Group President – Jan 2022
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.
We hope 2022 will be a good one for you and that Covid will loosen its grip. Covid restrictions permitting, the travel guys plan to organise 7 or 8 activities this year – either day trips, evening events, or short breaks. They have had feedback and ideas from you which they welcomed and have added to their own ideas. We will hear more from them later in the year.
We were sorry to have had to postpone our December Open Morning which we will now hold on Saturday 29th January, combined with a mini-AGM. For the AGM we will do what we had to do last year – send out a report of our activities during the year, provide a copy of the annual accounts in the centre for inspection and ask you to vote on line for the re-election of committee members etc. However – hopefully we will be able to also invite you to vote in person if you would prefer to. This you will be able to do (Covid restrictions per- mitting) on Saturday 29th January and then join us for the usual drinks, snacks and chat.
Our lovely Lynne Bowes has had to resign from the committee due to family commitments so we have two vacancies – one for librarian and the other for Schools visit co-ordinator This is a real opportunity for you to help us make our mark and develop the activities in our lovely centre. Or you can start off simply as a general committee member and see how you feel. To learn what is involved just email or phone during opening hours and one of us will arrange to meet you and ex- plain.
