Message from the Group President – July 2021
Thanks to all who donated tombola prizes for our Open Day in June and to those who entertained us on the day. It was lovely to finally get together again.
We have now been in our Plaza San Antonio premises for 3 years. Hard to believe.
Unfortunately, we have to close down for the month of August as several of the team are not going to be available. We have had very few members coming in during June and July and expect less in the heat of August. Many have told us they are reluctant to come out while the Corona virus is still with us, even with vaccinations going apace. On this basis we felt it was sensible to close. The August issue of the magazine is therefore being brought forward to be available at the end of July. We hope you manage to pick it up with your supply of books to keep you going until September. Please can you all bring back your library books during July to give everyone a chance to choose something to read while we are closed. Thank you.
However, the committee will still be meeting and working and we will open on certain, specified, days in August for those who wish to book on the trip to Castril on Thursday 16th September. More details will be emailed to our members later this month.
September also brings our next Open Day – Saturday 25th. Please put this in your diary now and we will send further information nearer the time.
Last, but not least, we are still looking for volunteers to work on a Monday and we now also need help on a Thursday. Please email us if you could possibly help out on either of these days or pop into the centre and leave your details. Hope to hear from you.
