Message from the President: April 2024

Thanks to all those who donated tombola and raffle prizes for our St Patrick’s Day event in March; thanks to those who attended; thanks to
those who helped on the day and especially to those who worked so hard to make it different.

On April 23rd we have the day of the Book and the Rose and St George’s Day. Pop into the library to take out or buy a book and collect a free rose at the same time

On Saturday 4th May, some of your committee are taking part in the Walk for Life, Arboleas. Would you like to join us to raise money for this worthy cause? If so, meet us at the Ayuntamiento at 16.00. We will be wearing AGoF tshirts.

We still have not found a replacement for Beryl Booth who had to resign in January. She was Vice President, Membership Secretary and Advertising Coordinator. Chris Hurley has very kindly stepped in to cover the Membership role temporarily, and the committee is sharing advertising between them but we need permanent cover. We are allowed 12 committee members but only have 9 at the moment. It is very difficult to run the group effectively without a full committee. Please ask one of us what it involves and think of joining the team. It really is not too onerous when there are 12 of us to share the load.
