Message from the President: February 2024

We are sorry that, for various reasons, we could not hold our AGM on 29th January as planned, but will let you know as soon as we can reschedule it. In the meantime, the President’s report together with the 2023 accounts are available in the centre for any member to read.

Thanks to those who attended our ‘Open Days’ last year and made donations. We were able to use some of this money to buy equipment for Martin Evans and his team to use during their visits to the local schools. Much appreciated.

Our next ‘Open Day’ will be Saturday 16th March, with a St Patrick’s Day theme. Please put this in your diary now.

Remember that membership runs from lst January to 31st December. If you have friends and neighbours who have not renewed, please do remind them so that they can continue receiving our magazine and emails and keep informed of our events and trips.

Our trips to the Sierra Nevada and to Cordoba have proved very popular and we have a reserve list for them all. However, we still have space on the trip to Portugal on 15th – 20th September and Frank is in the throes of organising a trip to Malaga in early December. We will advise you of the next day trips as soon as they are organised.

And this year – if you have a few hours to spare once a week – please think about joining the library team. It is not hard work – honestly – just a chance to meet people, have a chat, loan out a few books, book members on trips and enjoy yourself.
