Message from the President: July 2024

Again we will be closing during the heat of August, opening again on 3rd September. So please bring back your library books during July to give everyone a chance to choose something to read in the meantime. We will also be adding some new books to the shelves this month.

The August magazine will be ready by the end of July to further entertain you during August.

No trips are being planned during the Summer heat but day trips are being investigated for the Autumn. There are still places available on the December trip to Malaga.

A reminder that we are still looking for someone to take over the Membership role and for the Advertising. Neither are hard work but they are very rewarding.

It is perhaps timely to advise you that at the next AGM in January I plan to step down as President although still being involved in some ways with the group.

In 2015 I agreed, reluctantly to be acting President until someone more suitable could be found. After 10 years of waiting, and trying to keep the group going through many challenges, I have run out of
steam and think it is time for someone younger to take over.

Please consider it. The group is so important to lots of people and it is a privilege to try to serve their needs.
