Message from the group president – February 2018
Thank you to everyone who managed to make it to the AGM last month. We do appreciate your attendance to show your support and to give us any suggestions you may have for improvements to the running of your Association.
We hope those who attended enjoyed the short quiz afterwards and will join us again for our monthly quiz, held on the first Monday of each month at Maloans. Thank you, Ian Holmes, who runs these for us, and thanks to Andy and his staff at Maloans for their help with these and with the AGM.
Thank you also to TimTaplin, Senior Partner at Indalo Partners, Mojacar, for auditing our accounts.
At the AGM, Karen Troman, Ken Cross and Wendy Wood stepped down from their roles and we thanked them sincerely for their efforts on your behalf.
Ken organised some wonderful trips for us over the years. He and Bev now want to concentrate on their own personal travel plans. But he has left us with the day in Aguilas this month as well as the trips to Cadiz in April and to Salobreña in September. Your committee is organising a Mystery trip on 21st March and will be planning some day trips for the remainder of the year. If there is anywhere you would particularly like to visit, please let us know. We can’t promise to go there but we do promise to investigate.
On the subject of trips, please note that this year the Arboleas pick up point will be outside the Meson/Coviran for all excursions.
Please check the Centre notice board, our website and Facebook page for travel and event updates. Sometimes final details are confirmed after the magazine has gone to print.
We look forward to seeing you in the Centre, on one of our trips, or at some of the events we are planning for this year.
